In Wind Waker, Jalhalla was one of the monsters responsible for the Master Sword losing its power. He robbed the Sage Medli of her soul, causing the sword to lose the power of her prayer. Link would eventually claim the sword and awaken a new sage, and ultimately defeat Jalhalla.
