Ghosts are enemies from from the Nintendo GameCube game Luigi's Mansion. They are the most common enemies found in the game, and are out to capture Luigi in the mansion with his brother, Mario whom Luigi was baited into a rescue mission for.
Profile[]
Against the Ghosts' original predictions, Luigi has enlisted help in combatting them from Professor Elvin Gadd, a scientist who has developed several inventions designed to subdue the Ghosts. The invention the ghosts seem to fear the most is the Poltergust 3000, a heavily modified vacuum cleaner with enough force to drain the energy from the ghosts directly, capturing them at the end. For almost all ghosts, animals and other small ghosts excepted, a ghosts "heart" must be exposed in order for the Poltergust to get hold on it, which can be done by hitting them with a beam from a flashlight. Some ghosts have a certain "element" protecting their heart from being exposed by the flashlight, being either ice, fire or water that must be hit using a loaded burst of the Poltergusts exhaust function modified by special medals in the mansion, fire element melting ice, water element dousing fire, and ice element freezing water.
