Spirits are beings from the Pikmin series, making a guest appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

When Pikmin die, they disappear and a small ghost rises up from where it was killed. This could be the result of an attack from a hazard or enemy attack. After a few seconds, the spirits disappear, their fate at this point being largely unclear. Bulbmin, enemies of Pikmin also leave spirits, but are more bubble shaped at the tail than having the ghost's stereotypical whisp.
